Why use Webtoon?

Tessa's avatarAll About Anime and Manga

Firstly, what is Webtoon and then, why should you use Webtoon?

Webtoon is a free online reading service that offers tons of amazing stories for free with no ad interruptions, no bad or fuzzy quality and the best feeling is knowing that you are actually supporting the actual creator and reading their stuff legally. There are basically two places you can read webtoons, through the app or on the website. A lot of the stories are actually really good and the artwork varies from artist to artist.

Honestly, I started reading webtoons on a 3rd party app, completely unaware that Webtoons existed. I feel much happier supporting the genuine article as well as actually being up to date with the latest chapter with no delay.

The App

As you can see in the above image, space for me on my phone at the moment is an issue. I always have…

yadarl's avatarYadarl Gulung

Heyyy !! I would like to write in English (again). This is my second time hehe. Never really feel that I can speak English so well but here I am..

So today I’m going to review about a Webtoon. It kind of like app that contain a lot of comics in many genre. Just in case you don’t know there are Korean dramas that inspired or remaking the story from it. One of them that I love the most is “My ID is Gangnam Beauty” it was so awsome I’m not lying.

Back with the Webtoon. I gotta say I’m in love with a Webtoon latey. The tittle is LOVE REVOLUTION. This Webtoon has half of my heart right now. When I’m Gangnam Beauty is over with #92 eps, I’m starting to looking forward to the other Webtoon. From all that Webtoon, I decided to read out LOVE REVOLUTION because…

The rise of K-beauty in the West

☆ britney tran ☆'s avatar

In the world of trends, obviously, they aren’t new or limited to the West. In fact, while there’s a speculating intake that trends are only unfurled and cultivated by the West, trends can originate from anywhere. In regards to this, trends typically spread through cultivation. As manias begin to build popularity in particular countries and cultures, sometimes that popularity expands and obtains the interest of other groups/countries and inspires cultivation, the process of one group adapting to the cultures of another.

One favored trend that’s spread from its roots is K-beauty. The outspread of Korean culture, as a whole, sprung out of nowhere. But not to be misled by the phrase “out of nowhere,” this spread actually took a slow and gradual process of cultivation. The extending of Korean culture from Korea started off slow, with a few startingly taking interest in the culture’s dramas and music. However, this slow…

The Smile Has Left Your Eyes – Review: “Win or Die”

lisyne's avatarLisyne Reviews

I am loving this kdrama trend to have darker and more adult shows. The Smile has left your Eyes is no exception to it and I have simply fallen in love with a show that, for sure, will make you cry but that will leave you amazed. My review will probably not to it justice, so if I have to sum it up: just watch it.

It’s the story of 3 people:

  • Kim Moo-Young, an assistant working in a craft microbrewery. His arrogant yet charming surface seems to hide deeper issues.
  • Yoo Jin-Kang, a designer who was raised by her brother after their parents’ death. She’s smart and sweet but her past still left her some scars.
  • Yoo Jin-Gook, Jin-Kang’s overprotective brother who is also a policeman. He’s genuinely good but his “over-kindness” is also making his life – and sometimes others’ – more complicated than it should. A trauma…

Full House – Kdrama Review

I had a blast watching this. It wasn’t completely devoid of faults I admit but it was a thoroughly enjoyable show. Interestingly enough, one of my absolute favorite Urdu shows of all time, Yeh Raha Dil, which aired last year, is actually a remake of this korean drama. I had read people compare the two but back then I wasn’t interested in watching kdramas.

Song Hye-kyo and Rain were amazing. They were funny and charming and able to carry their characters perfectly. I liked the supporting cast as well save for two people. They must have done their job well because I HATE THEIR STUPID GUTS.

The plot revolves around Han Ji-eun, whose two best friends send her on a trip to Japan while they sell her house behind her back to settle their debts. On her trip she meets Lee Young-jae, a famous actor and on her return she…

Obscure Anime/Manga Genres

rossiroad's avatarMy Brain Is Completely Empty

There are lots of weird and obscure genre’s of Anime and Manga so I thought it would be fun to explain what they are and learn what they even are myself for a lot of them! Also I will be giving popular examples. They won’t be anything that I recommend just what MAL recommends, though I’m sure I’ll be happy with a lot of what MAL says.

Shounen and Shoujo

Both are a genre of Japanese comics aimed at different genders. Shounen is japanese comics/anime’s aimed at young boys and Shoujo is the same but aimed at young girls.

Shounen anime examples: Death note, attack on titan, FMA:B

Shounen manga examples: Naruto, Attack on Titan, One Piece

Shoujo anime examples: Ouran High School Host Club, Maid Sama!, My Little Monster

shoujo manga examples: Maid Sama!, Ao Haru Ride, Dengeki Daisy

Shounen AI…

My Hero Academy Season 3 Review

It’s time to look at the third season of My Hero Academy. This is the best one yet and finally adapts my favorite arc of the series, the Bakugou rescue arc. Now granted, I consider this arc to start when the villains arrive in the forest and that it doesn’t conclude until after the All Might vs One For All fight. That may not officially be the case as it’s possible that these are actually 3 different arcs. If that is the case…well, it’s still my favorite chunk at any rate.

This season pretty much starts with that plot right off the bat. The heroes have gone to a secluded mountain to train since the villains keep infiltrating the school. The problem is that there still seems to be a mole within the school so this tactic doesn’t fare any better than the last one. The villains have arrived once…
